Don Henkle

Don is no stranger to Access Sacramento. In his 10 years as a member, Don has been involved in TV, Film,Radio and serving on the Board of Directors. This experience of having hands on in every aspect of Access is a positive and important trait that Don brings to the board.
Don also serves on the Board of Directors for SGMC (Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus)  where he holds the position of Board Vice President. In this role he also plays a pivotal role in marketing and media relations. Don has also served on the Board of Directors during the early years of the  LGBT Center, “The Center,” in Las Vegas where he held the positions of Volunteer Coordinator as well as the Board Chair.  With 45 years of executive management in retail, Don brings to the Access Board a solid business acumen and deep understanding of the challenges of balancing an ever changing budget based on the circumstances in our changing world.

Kierre Stowes

Kierre Stowes is dedicated to the growth of Filmmaking in Sacramento, CA. He is a Sacramento-based Film Critic with the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA), a Film Festival President/Curator of SacTown Movie Buffs Film Fest, and produces and hosts a television series on Access Sacramento Channel 18, called SacTown Movie Buffs TV.  Kierre holds a BS Degree from Sacramento State University in Communications and is actively involved in the Sacramento community, by both attending live events and interviewing Sacramento business organizations.  He brings a strong background in Public Speaking, Business Management, Marketing, Sales, Social Media Marketing, HR and Recruitment to the Access Sacramento board.

Hester Wagner

Hester Wagner is the director/producer for Futures Films Production Company. She runs the Futures Explored Practical Film and Media Studios, a vocational film making program for adults with developmental disabilities.  Hester earned her BA in Theatre Arts from The University of the South in Sewanee, TN and her MA in Educational Theatre from NYU. She worked in New York as a teaching artist and educator in schools and prisons before moving to California in 2007.

Trevor Doyle

Trevor is a respected educator with over 21 years of dedicated service teaching computer science and mathematics in public schools. With a background in radio hosting and a passion for technology, he possesses strong communication skills and a deep understanding of educational principles. Trevor’s commitment to excellence and innovation makes him a valuable addition to any board of directors.

Joe Barr

Joe Barr has dedicated his career to journalism, communications, and community engagement. His first job was at Venango Video, the public access TV station in his hometown in Pennsylvania. He is currently director of communications for the California Hospital Association, supporting over 400 hospitals and health systems statewide. Prior to this, Barr had a three-decade career as an award-winning journalist and media leader in both commercial and public broadcasting. At Capital Public Radio in Sacramento, Barr tripled the news department’s size, developed the CapRadio statewide network serving public radio stations across California, and launched the community engagement documentary series “The View From Here.” Under his leadership, CapRadio earned numerous awards, including national Edward R. Murrow, Gabriel, and Sigma Delta Chi awards. Previously, Barr was a Senior Producer at the Westwood One radio network, overseeing news coverage for more than a thousand commercial radio stations, and an anchor and reporter at NPR member station KJZZ in Phoenix, AZ. Barr is a senior fellow with the American Leadership Forum and has been named to Capitol Weekly’s annual Top 100 List of influencers in Sacramento.

This is your opportunity to help strengthen this non-profit’s fiscal health through communication with the community, and help guide this award-winning non-profit organization’s management team. Your efforts contribute to improving Sacramento County’s residents’ quality of life, and to shoring up free speech locally.
