How do I get my show on television?

Become a member. As a video producer member, you get an average of one (1) hour of air-time a month on either channel 17 or 18. You could submit a one-hour show or several shows that add up to one hour of air time.  If you want to air a three-hour documentary you can do this by accumulating your unused on-air hours for 3 months.  Do you need help making your show?  We can help with that too.

How do I get my show series on television?

Many members are prolific content creators, producing a series of videos that they want to air weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, AND want the series to air in the same date and time slot each broadcast. Having your series air at the exact same time on the same day of the week, allows you to promote your show & create a following.  Series producer members pay a premium to guarantee this sort of scheduling.

On what channel will my show or series air?

If you want your video series to air on local public access cable television, your series will air by default on channel 18, the Sac County free speech channel.

Exceptionally, if you feel your video series should air on channel 17, meets the standard of high production values and is Sac County specific content, you can cloud-share two sample episodes to the Executive Director for review, who makes the final determination on which channel your show can air.

Can I have a fiscal sponsor for my series?

Members may thank sponsors at the beginning or end of your show. Examples: “This show was brought to you by XXXX,” or “Special thanks to our underwriter, XXXX.”  On-air thanks must follow the FCC guidelines which state that shows cannot promote the sale of commercial producers or services, and thus cannot promote any call to action such as an address or website address of the sponsor. The sponsorship thanks cannot suggest comparison to competitors, such as “the best restaurant in town,” or “winner of the 2024 best restaurant award.”
